This is the one you've been waiting for.
Dust off the lederhosen. Find that dirndl in the back of the closet. On Friday, October 9, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Shades of Green turns Lake Buena Vista into a Bavarian beer hall — and our crew will be right in the middle of it. This is the kind of night where the stories get louder, the pretzels disappear faster than a formation at liberty call, and nobody leaves hungry.

The food is the real parade. An authentic German buffet is the main event: fat bratwurst and knackwurst with a snap, schnitzel that actually deserves the name, warm soft pretzels the size of a cover plate, sauerkraut, red cabbage, German potato salad, and enough sides to require a second pass — which you will take. Save room for strudel. You will not be sorry.

Then there are the beverages. Paulaner is on the banner for a reason. Expect cold German lagers and Oktoberfest Märzen poured the way they were meant to be poured — into a real glass, with a head on it, while a band is playing. Raise it. Clink it. Say Prost like you mean it. Non-beer drinkers will not be left at the wire; there will be plenty to toast with.

And the fun is not optional. Live entertainment, games, music that makes even the shy ones tap a boot, and a room full of veterans, families, and friends who already know how to turn a Friday night into a memory. Shades of Green is our kind of ground — an Armed Forces Recreation Center on Disney property — so the camaraderie comes built-in.
